I feel so low it feels good, I feel so down I feel high, I feel so dead I feel alive…now all I need is EYEHATEGOD. This is one of my favorite bands ever; they are pillars of apocalyptic blues & they do what they want without apologies. Their whiskey-drenched bass lines have turned my grey daze sunny. EYEHATEGOD play tormented southern sludge like no other band. You can hear all of the angst & despair that they have lived come out in the music they create. Since 1988, this band has been on some outlaw shit & I don’t see them stopping anytime soon. When you see them live, they take you way down into the pit of blackened voodoo doom. Today, CVLT Nation wants to share some of our favorite EYEHATEGOD posters, plus a 70 minute live set & their European tour dates.
EYEHATEGOD : Kill Your Boss
EYEHATEGOD : Crimes Against Skin
The unholy trinity has arisen The Secret & Tombs European tour poster artwork has been completed by the artistic wizard Glyn Smyth. This art is fucking fantastic – just like I’m sure this tour will be. Both of these bands are creators of epic bodies of musical masterpieces & it makes total sense that they should be on the road together. For Tombs fans, today is your lucky day – their soon to be released album Path Of Totality is being streamed HERE. Stay tuned to CVLT Nation for an in-depth interview with Glyn Smyth, coming soon. After the jump, get a closer look at this gnarly poster, plus find out the inspiration for this piece from the artist himself, plus check out all of the tour dates.
The weight of the world is on my head…my heavy thoughts are being induced by the THE BODY. This Providence, RI band crushes everything in their path, & this June they will be attacking the East Coast on a very special tour. THE BODY will be hitting the road with The Assembly Of Light Choir, who provided the eerie vocals on the The Body’s song “A Body,” off of their album All The Waters Of The Earth Turn To Blood. So this is how it’s going down – a full set by The Assembly Of Light Choir, followed by a full set by THE BODY, then a collaborative set with both bands. To me, this sounds like a magic carpet ride into avant garde doom bliss. So after the jump, get all of the tour details plus some awesome surprises!

What happens when silence is heavier than sound? When the slow moving storm clouds open up over your head? When dark mammoth vibrations engulf your spirit? As I listen to Wolvserpent‘s Blood Seed, these are questions that race through my mind. These two humans create majestic music that has no limits or boundaries. Their album Blood Seed is two rad long compositions. The first is “Wolv,” which clocks in at 22 minutes of doom bliss, & the second one is “Serpent,” clocking in at 18 minutes of doom magic. Wolvserpent starts off with gnarly creepy drones that slowly build into cathedrals filled with sonic treasure. The creative spirit of this band feeds my imagination with every second that I listen to them. Their compositions invoke enchanted forests, where the trees speak to the clouds & wind speaks to creatures; where the answers to our existence is truly all around us. Wolvserpent are masters of their crafts. I know this to be true because allowing this record into your heart is the kind of darkness that heals. The right seed is Blood Seed, out now on vinyl via 20 Buck Spin, and as a 2 CD set via Crucial Blast on May 31st. Check out the Wolvserpent rituals after the jump – tours news, photos & gnarly videos!
Sound bends, sound moves, sound heals, sound vibrates, sound is alive & the band A Story of Rats works magic with sound. Their music is tones weaving in & out of tones, all the while holding on to silence. This band tweaks tones & shapes them into sonic art that feeds your imagination.
A Story of Rats also have these creepy whispers in their songs that can make the hair on the back of your neck stand up. Trust me, this dude creates vibrations with sound that will make you wonder what is really real. I dig this band because it allows my brain to unlock mental doors that might otherwise stay closed. A Story of Rats creates sounds out of nature through complex layering. His music reminds me of life – the constant movement, the ups & downs we all go through on a moment to moment basis. Their tape Relinquishment is out now on FSS, plus they are on tour now with Wolvserpent. After the jump, catch all of the tour details & get your drone boogie on.
Ah shit it’s going down! “The Death Comes Ripping” tour will be killing you this summer. Nails & Ringworm will be co-headlining a tour starting in July. Bitter End and New Lows will be the two support bands & will also be bringing the kind of noise that harms! As we all know, Nails created one of the sickest albums of last year. I can bear witness that they are super sick to see live. Ringworm is straight murdercore, so you know the drill. I don’t think I would be wrong in saying this might be the hardcore tour of the summer. So after the jump, get all of the tour details & check out some sick live videos.
Now this is a gnarly video from a gnarly band. The Atlanta heavy sludge masters SONS OF TONATIUH have created a super sick video for their song “Consumed,” a track from their debut album. I really dig this band because they create that dirty raw sludge that destroys your braincells. This video commands your attention – from the very first sight of police in riot gear, I knew it would be on! The song works in perfect union with this thought-provoking imagery. So after the jump, check out this killer video produced by Apocalypse Productions, plus the band’s spring tour news.
