Here is a huge anger riff pointed at the throat of corruption: MASAKARI live at the Acheron in Brooklyn this past weekend. We totally dig everything this band stands for, and we will always wave their flag of rage high! Live, their music takes on a whole different shape of fury that makes you pay attention even more closely. So check out this full MASAKARI set captured by our comrade Pit Full of Shit…Damn I can’t wait until their new album comes out…hint hint…
Straight up and down, I totally dig when a wife & husband team unify to create art. This is just the case with Lux Interior and Poison Ivy, who together were the foundation of The CRAMPS. They created so of the sickest tunes of their plus gave some of the most exciting performances of their peers. The CRAMPS were than just a group, they were art in every sense of the word. I could spend hours watching videos of them perform. This why today our favorite tumblr this moment is Poison Ivy The CRAMPS. This page is full of rare photos and a whole lot more goo goo muck. For all those feeling out of your mind right now, check them out live at the Napa State Mental Hospital!
Now this great news: BELGRADO is working on a new album which I can not wait for and I know I’m not alone. Check this out – they have just put out a video for one of their new songs called “Untitled.” From seeing this visual, I know the BELGRADO record is going to kill…stay tuned for more news!
So what do we have here? A brand new video from my old time homies HIEROGLYPHICS called “Gun Fever.” Not only is this track super funky with a catchy hook, but the subject matter is on point – tackle the gun violence! Everyone in the crew spits ballistic verses that will have you paying attention. BLAM BLAM BLAM check out the new HIEROGLYPHICS right now…this rad visual was directed by Casual for Wetfoot Filmworks.
Two days ago, one of our favorite bands had their record release party in Brooklyn. I’m talking about BATILLUS, who performed their new album Concrete Sustain in full! Pit Full of Shit was on hand to capture their intense performance of this outstanding album. If I write the list for the top 6 Doom records of 2013, BATILLUS’ Concrete Sustain has earned a spot in my book! In the meantime, check this radical show and if you do not have this album you can go HERE to pick it up…I have my white vinyl version in our collection and it gets blasted on the regular! Check out the CVLT Nation review of Concrete Sustain!
Hey you…come a little closer so I can whisper something into your ear…DBC, aka Dangerous Boys Club, have just released a new album entitled Pris via Dais Records. For their song “Tranzilvania” they have created an 11 minute video that we are premiering here today on CVLT Nation…Get your glam violence on now and check out this visual!
Heavy beauty, melodic dissonance and uplifting d-tuned sonic food for the human condition are the thoughts that come to my mind as I listen to the new PRAY FOR TEETH song “Swallow The Ground.” This song is DIY blues, not in a straight ahead sense, but because the way it was written touches my being in the same way that a Son House song would. PRAY FOR TEETH has created an epic performance video to go along with this mammoth 11 minute anthem, and we have the honor of premiering it today! You can pre-order the cassette HERE which is being released by Lock & Key Collective, plus they have a new 7 inch entitled I’m Still Finding Feathers In My Hair coming out via our comrades Root of Evil Collective which you can pre-order HERE!
