Excuse me as I plug in my vaporizer and make my way back to my screen to watch one of my all time favorite bands. For years, a week has not gone by when I have not listened to SLEEP. Travel on the weed caravan with me and check out this amazing 1994 full set that took place in Carrboro, NC at the Cat’s Cradle. SLEEP were on point this night – Chris, Matt and Al were unified under the green flag. Climb the holy mountain and peep the thc-delic experience after the jump…much respect due to kill that cat.
Boxes are made for different things, but not to hold anyone’s creative spirit – at least this is how I feel! BURNT BOOKS are the kind of band that puts their passion for making the music they love first. The end result is epicly weird angular punk, seething with conviction. Their recently released self-titled album is out now on At A Loss Recordings, and it is the shit. Right now I want to point out that BURNT BOOKS have a new video out for their song “In A Shallow Grave” directed by Warthen Media. Check out their new visual plus their tour dates for a mini tour that starts today!
AGARTTHA is an Italian band that creates far out music that will attack your inner soul and will have your head moving in ethereal circles. When I hear their music, I travel to places in my imagination where flowing water turns into outer space! AGARTTHA are set to release their new album entitled A Water Which Does Not Wet Hands very soon via King Of The Monsters (pre-order HERE). Check their brand new video for their song “Lambsprinck” after the jump! Make sure to listen to AGARTTHA – they speak the language of the clouds!

Toronto’s Ride At Dawn are back again with their second full-length “Blast Cage”. Recorded in their practice room in midwinter of 2012 using a single harmonica microphone, “Blast Cage” introduces us 6 vicious themes with a more stripped, crude, ugly treatment. The sound on “Blast Cage” is quite different from the one we heard on the “Human Altars” LP, not that the sound on “Human Altars” was all polished and neat. It was more ascertained, but still corrosive as Hell. Here on “Blast Cage” the sound is more.. how can i say: “in your-face”. No studio mambo-jambo, no tricks, nothing… it’s meant to be served and eaten fucking raw.
It’s been some years, but the mighty GRAVES AT SEA are back. This past Friday they brought the heavy to the Metro Operahouse in Oakland, and Kill That Cat captured their whole set. GRAVES AT SEA will be performing at this year’s Heavy Days In Doomtown in Copenhagen, Denmark – peep the poster, plus the Metro Operahouse full set after the jump!

One of the coolest things in the world is to see your friends’ dreams come true! This is exactly the case for Dan Clements of EXCEL. As young kids growing up in Venice, even before we discovered hardcore, we would skate together. Then something happened: we both got into punk around the same time and became a part of the Suicidal scene that was happening around us. Then he and his homies started Chaotic Noise, which later would become the almighty EXCEL. When Shaun Ross joined, this band really started to kill shit during the mid 80′s. When you listen to EXCEL’s lyrics you can hear that they were before their time. It was a sad day when this band called it quits. The good news is that EXCEL has reunited and will be performing at the RVCA store on Fairfax this Saturday, March 30th at 7pm. This is going to be an epic show, I am looking forward to seeing many heads that I used to terrorize Venice with. So for everyone who will not be in Los Angeles this weekend, check out some sick footage after the jump! Suicidal Boyz for life!

DUE TO THE OVERWHELMING RESPONSE WE’VE HAD ABOUT THE EXCEL SHOW, WE WILL BE LIMITING ENTRY TO 70 PEOPLE AND YOU MUST RSVP TO ATTEND. EMAIL STORES@RVCA.COM TO GET ON THE GUEST LIST.

Speedwolf is the shit and their new video of the same name is a raging visual party! When I heard their 2011 debut Ride With Death, I was hooked on their intocating riffs. When I watched the “Speedwolf” video, something came over me and I wanted to blast some metal then drink a cold one. Anyway, this sick fucking band is about to hit the road again, but in the meantime check out their visual for “Speedwolf” after the jump!
