Type O Negative – “Love You To Death”

Love You to Death is a very intimate song, and we tried to do justice to the original while still retaining our own sound. We made the song a lot more heavy and edited out some parts. We’re suckers for good melodies, so in order to retain the songs melodic hooks we employed some clean vocals. One of the guitarists and the drummer was used for testing out different types of vocals, all while being intoxicated. I think the result ended up keeping the feeling of the original, while at the same time sounding a lot different.

Joy Division – “Day Of The Lords”

Joy Division is a band that resonates with a lot of people through different genres. Metalheads, indie rockers and more enjoy their distinct kind of music. Their dark and depressive soundscapes create an atmosphere few bands manage to replicate. We went for Day of the Lords because it is a song that is very open for translation. We accentuated the guitars to give it more of a heavy feeling, and we improvised our guitar playing over the empty spaces. The latter is something you can also hear on the original, where the guitar will play each riff a little bit different. We feel it is a cover that would sound at home with Heksed, while still staying true to the original.

The Type O Negative cover was absolutely terrible. Way to vomit all over a masterpiece.
The Joy Division cover was half decent, with nice instrumentation, but the vocals sound like an even worse Mikko Aspa.

    Good stuff.
