It’s fitting that the Cali sun-kissed-gaze duo Hollow Sunshine are named what they are, because their music gives me the eternal bliss of a sunny day! They have just put out a new Youtube-only release which consists of 3 EP’s – Coward, Leader and Omega. Each one is a beautiful but sometimes somber journey into minds where our sad thoughts collide with our happiness. Morgan Enos’ voice is as delicate as butterfly wings while still remaining powerful in his own “loud is silent” sort of way. When you listen to all 3 EP’s back to back, you can hear why the collection of songs make sense with one another. Hollow Sunshine’s music is the kind of sonic medicine I need to get through this MAD, CRAZY world we seem to living in right now. Reuben Sawyer’s musicianship throughout these records is honest and full of haunting and mesmerizing sonic textures that work perfectly with Enos’ voice. I’m happy to be sharing this band with you because they need to be heard by many – we all need a little sunshine in our lives!
